WOVU 95.9 FM is Northeast Ohio's premier Urban Alternative public radio station, serving diverse audiences through innovative programming, community engagement, digital content creation, and multimedia storytelling. As part of our growing multimedia platform, WOVU provides students with hands-on experience in radio broadcasting, podcast production, digital media, and content creation.

Internship Overview

The Production Team Internship offers students the opportunity to gain practical experience in broadcast and digital media production while earning academic credit through their college or university. Interns will work alongside industry professionals and experienced broadcasters to help create engaging audio and multimedia content for radio, podcast, social media, and streaming platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with radio show production and content preparation.
  • Support live and recorded broadcast operations.
  • Edit audio for radio programs, podcasts, interviews, and promotional content.
  • Assist with recording sessions and remote productions.
  • Create and organize digital media assets.
  • Develop content for social media and multimedia platforms.
  • Participate in production meetings and brainstorming sessions.
  • Assist with event coverage, community outreach, and live broadcasts.
  • Help maintain production schedules and content archives.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
  • Eligible to receive academic internship credit.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Familiarity with audio editing software is a plus but not required.

Internship Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in an academic program that awards internship credit.
  • Must provide documentation from the educational institution confirming internship credit eligibility.
  • Commitment of 10–20 hours per week during the academic term.
  • Attendance at scheduled meetings, productions, and station events as assigned.
