Quality Specialist

Quality Specialist / Associate Hiring

We are seeking a qualified professional for a fast-growing global company in the battery materials and chemical industry operating in both Korea and the United States.

This role is responsible for quality verification, laboratory testing, supplier quality support, and quality system compliance for key materials, including lithium-ion battery electrolytes.

Salary

$55,000 – $70,000 (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities

Incoming Quality Control (IQC) – 40%

  • Perform incoming inspection and approval of raw materials, packaging materials, and production consumables
  • Review and verify supplier Certificates of Analysis (COA) against specifications
  • Conduct sampling and inspection procedures
  • Manage material hold, rejection, and disposition decisions

Laboratory Testing – 30%

  • Perform analytical testing including Moisture (KF), Density, Conductivity, Color (APHA), Acid/HF, ICP, IC, and GC (as assigned)
  • Record and review test results in compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements
  • Support method validation and laboratory investigations

Supplier Quality – 15%

  • Support supplier qualification and quality monitoring activities
  • Participate in supplier issue investigations and corrective actions
  • Maintain raw material quality performance data

Quality System (QMS) – 15%

  • Maintain inspection records and test reports
  • Support customer and certification audits
  • Assist with PPAP / ISIR / 4M change management
  • Support updates to SOPs, Control Plans, and PFMEA documents
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards

Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Support quality KPI tracking and data analysis
  • Contribute to process and laboratory improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field (preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in QC, laboratory testing, or chemical/automotive manufacturing (preferred)
  • Experience with analytical instruments such as GC, IC, ICP, KF, and density meters preferred
  • Experience in battery materials or chemical industry preferred
  • Strong understanding of SOPs and testing specifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with battery electrolyte or chemical materials
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949, PPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, and Control Plans
  • Experience supporting customer or certification audits
  • Spanish bilingual welcomed
