Legal Assistant
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting attorneys with various tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of our legal practice.
Duties:
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, scanning, and organizing documents.
- Review, prioritize, and respond to emails.
- Manage the calendar, including scheduling appointments.
- Draft, review, and implement various legal, insurance, estate planning, and annuity documents.
- Conduct legal research to support case preparation and strategy.
- Transcribe legal documents and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure deadlines are met and client needs are addressed.
Estate Planning Support:
- Prepare materials and folders for client meetings.
- Enter and organize client intake information.
- Make client confirmation calls .
- Assist with drafting engagement letters.
Signings & Follow-Up:
- Witness document signings when needed.
- Prepare client binders and copies of documents.
- Scan and store original signed documents
Office Support:
- Prepare and update marketing folders.
- Sort and distribute incoming mail.
- File original legal documents in storage.
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- A self-starter with the drive to seek out opportunities and take initiative.
- Strong skills in legal research, writing, and transcribing documents.
- Knowledge of Estate Planning law regulations is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
