Founded in 2009, the Chef Ann Foundation (CAF) believes that all children should have equal access to fresh, healthy, delicious food providing them the foundation to thrive and meet their true potential. We ensure that school food professionals have the resources, funding and support they need to provide cook-from-scratch meals that support the health of children and our planet. To date, we’ve reached over 19,000 schools and over 5.9 million children in all 50 states with our school food programming.
Job Description
The Chef Ann Foundation (CAF) seeks a motivated and mission-aligned Marketing Intern to support our efforts to expand access to healthy, fresh food for all children through better school food. This internship offers hands-on experience in nonprofit communications, digital marketing, and storytelling, while contributing to meaningful, mission-driven work.
This is an entry-level, learning-focused opportunity ideal for someone interested in marketing, communications, food systems, or nonprofit work. The Intern will support content creation, outreach, and communications strategy to elevate CAF’s programs and impact nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Support social media content creation, coordination, and performance tracking
- Assist with email marketing campaigns and audience engagement efforts
- Help maintain and update website content
- Contribute to blog posts, case studies, and success stories
- Support media outreach and press-related activities
- Perform additional programmatic tasks as assigned in support of CAF’s mission
- Other duties as assigned within the scope of this position
Position Requirements
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) required
- Currently enrolled in college-level coursework or a recent graduate preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Google Workspace
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Interest in food systems, nutrition, education, or nonprofit work
- Reliable internet access and the ability to work remotely
Preferred Education, Formal Training, and Experience
- Academic background in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field
- Experience with social media platforms and digital marketing tools
- Experience with graphic design
- Experience with editing public-facing content (social media posts, blogs, articles, etc.)
- Previous internship or volunteer experience in a nonprofit setting
- Interest in school food systems, public health, or advocacy
- Proficient in Google Suite and Canva
