Master Control Operator (MCO)

KVRR-TV, the FOX affiliate serving Fargo-Moorhead and the surrounding region, is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Master Control Operator (MCO) to join our broadcast operations team.

This position plays a critical role in keeping the station on the air by monitoring programming, commercial insertion, transmitter operations, and ensuring compliance with FCC regulations. Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control KVRR's on-air television signal. 
  • Operate broadcast automation and master control systems. 
  • Verify and air programming, commercials, and promotional content according to station logs. 
  • Monitor transmitter and technical systems and respond to alarms or operational issues. 
  • Record and document operational discrepancies and report technical concerns. 
  • Ensure FCC compliance and maintain accurate station logs. 
  • Coordinate with Engineering, News, Sales, and Production departments as needed. 
  • Assist with ingesting and preparing programming and commercial content. 
  • Provide coverage during evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as scheduled. 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Previous television, radio, production, IT, or technical experience preferred but not required. 
  • Strong computer and troubleshooting skills. 
  • Ability to multitask and remain focused in a live broadcast environment. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure. 
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work flexible schedules.
