Online Chat Agent
We are seeking a responsive and detail-oriented Online Chat Agent to provide customer support exclusively through live chat and messaging platforms. This role does not involve phone calls. You will assist customers by answering questions, resolving issues, and providing accurate information in real time while ensuring a positive customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to customer inquiries via live chat and messaging platforms only (no phone calls)
- Provide accurate information about products, services, orders, billing, and account issues
- Assist customers with troubleshooting common issues and guide them through solutions
- Handle multiple chat conversations simultaneously while maintaining quality and professionalism
- Escalate complex issues to the appropriate department when needed
- Document all customer interactions clearly in the system or CRM tool
- Maintain fast response times and meet performance targets (response time, resolution rate, satisfaction score)
- Follow company policies, scripts, and communication guidelines
- Maintain a friendly, professional, and empathetic tone in all interactions
Required Skills
- Excellent written communication skills (grammar, spelling, clarity, tone)
- Strong multitasking ability (handling multiple chats at once)
- Fast typing speed and accuracy (40+ WPM preferred)
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Customer-focused mindset with patience and professionalism
- Ability to learn quickly and follow instructions
- Basic computer and internet navigation skills
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- 0–1+ years of customer service, chat support, or administrative experience preferred
- Reliable internet connection and quiet workspace
- Basic knowledge of web tools, email systems, and chat platforms
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Availability to work flexible shifts (including evenings or weekends if required)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in live chat support or remote customer service
- Familiarity with CRM/helpdesk tools (Zendesk, Intercom, Freshdesk, etc.)
- Multitasking experience in fast-paced environments
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow chat scripts or guidelines
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities (a plus but not required)
