- Black Connect is seeking an Event Coordinator Intern to support planning and execution for two upcoming live events entrepreneurship, innovation, and creative enterprise.
- This is a short-term summer internship ideal for a student who wants hands-on experience with professional event planning, nonprofit programming, entrepreneurship, and community engagement.
- Responsibilities
- Assist with event planning timelines, task lists, and run-of-show documents.
- Support RSVP tracking, attendee communications, and follow-up emails.
- Help coordinate event materials, speaker information, signage needs, and promotional content.
- Research potential speakers, partners, attendees, and organizations aligned with each event.
- Attend planning meetings and, when possible, live events or virtual coordination sessions.
- Help prepare post-event summaries and follow-up materials.
Summer Deliverables
By the end of the internship, the intern will help complete:
- Event planning tracker.
- Draft invitation and follow-up email templates.
- Run-of-show document.
- Speaker/partner research list.
- Event recap template.
Ideal Candidate
This role is ideal for students interested in event planning, nonprofit management, entrepreneurship, marketing, public relations, business development, law firm relations, community engagement, or hospitality.
Strong candidates are organized, responsive, detail-oriented, professional, and comfortable helping move a live project from idea to execution.
Time Commitment
Approximately 5–10 hours per week from July through August, with the option to continue into the fall semester
