Upper School Drama Teacher (Part-Time)

Position Summary: The responsibilities of this role include developing curriculum and teaching 9th to 12th grade beginning and intermediate acting classes and a Directing class, which includes a performance of student-directed scenes. In addition, this role will direct one to two mainstage shows throughout the year with after-school auditions, rehearsals, and performances. This position reports to the Head of the Upper School. This role is offered as a one-year contract (August 2026 – June 2027).

 

All teachers work as part of a teaching team to create an inquiry-based interdisciplinary program in which the academic disciplines are taught as systems and methods of thinking about significant content. Responsibilities include curriculum development, teaching, assessment, communication with parents, collaborative work with colleagues, and general engagement with the entire school.

Credentials and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or MFA preferred
  • Minimum of five years teaching experience in the discipline, with some experience in the development of interdisciplinary curricula

 

Compensation

Annual salary range for this role is $27,800 to $47,180 based on experience.
