Position Overview

The City Kidz NexGen Animation Fellowship is a selective, hands-on professional development and production program designed for college students, recent graduates, and emerging creative professionals who are passionate about animation, storytelling, media, and creative innovation.

Fellows work alongside industry professionals and studio leadership to contribute to real-world animation and media projects while developing valuable technical, creative, and professional skills. Participants gain practical experience through active production assignments, mentorship opportunities, portfolio development, and collaborative project work.

This Fellowship is designed to bridge the gap between education and industry by providing meaningful exposure to professional animation pipelines, content creation workflows, and emerging creative technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Fellows may contribute to one or more of the following areas:

  • Character Design and Development
  • Storyboarding and Visual Storytelling
  • 2D and 3D Animation
  • Rigging and Character Setup
  • Modeling, Texturing, Lighting, and Rendering
  • Scriptwriting and Story Development
  • Voice-Over Production
  • Sound Design and Music Integration
  • Social Media Content Creation
  • Marketing and Brand Development
  • Community Storytelling Projects
  • Research and Development of Emerging AI Tools
  • Production Support and Creative Collaboration

Fellows who successfully complete the program will receive the City Kidz NexGen Emerging Creative Leaders Fellowship Certificate, recognizing their achievement, professional development, and contribution to studio productions 

Compensation

This is a stipend-supported Fellowship. Stipend amounts vary based on experience, skills, project responsibilities, and overall contribution throughout the Fellowship.
