Student Assistant
The Department of Botany and Plant Sciences is hiring a Student Assistant who will report to the department’s Travel Coordinator and work closely with the Procurement Analyst.
Work Schedule: This is a part-time student position with the possibility of extending past summer. Monday through Friday 8:00 – 5:00pm. Schedule within these parameters is flexible, depending on the students’ availability. A final work schedule will be provided by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Demonstrated organizational skills, such as accurate record keeping with strict attention to detail and ability to organize tasks, documents, and materials with efficiency and accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer service focus
- Computer proficiency within a Windows and Microsoft Office environment
- Preferred: ability to work with Google based applications such as Google Sheets and Forms
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with the receiving room and mail distribution
- Scan and upload documents into the department’s Team Drive as well as purchasing applications
- Update outdated information as requested by the department’s admin unit
- Assist with maintaining the image of the department’s reception/ lobby area as well as the faculty mail room
Physical Requirements: May require lifting of heavy objects as needed
