Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a solid foundation in accounting, payroll, and tax principles, along with hands-on experience in bookkeeping. This full-time position offers meaningful opportunities for professional development and advancement within the firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record and maintain accurate financial transactions in accordance with established accounting standards
  • Perform reconciliations of bank and credit card statements in a timely manner
  • Prepare and generate financial reports as needed
  • Support payroll processing and ongoing payroll management
  • Assist in the preparation of federal and state tax returns for both corporate and individual clients
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of all deliverables
  • Communicate professionally with clients regarding financial matters, including the status of bookkeeping and payroll activities, as well as business and tax planning discussions, ensuring clarity and responsiveness throughout the engagement

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or higher in Accounting or a related discipline
  • Entry-level candidates welcome; up to one year of relevant experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience with QuickBooks Desktop and/or QuickBooks Online is strongly preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a high level of organizational ability
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Demonstrates a proactive attitude toward taking on new responsibilities and continuously developing professional skills
