Remote Data Entry Specialist

A Remote Data Entry Specialist is responsible for accurately entering, updating, and maintaining data in company systems while working from a remote location. This role requires strong attention to detail, fast and accurate typing skills, and the ability to manage repetitive tasks independently while meeting deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter, update, and verify data in databases, spreadsheets, or internal systems.
  • Review source documents for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Correct errors and inconsistencies in data entries.
  • Maintain organized digital records and file systems.
  • Perform regular data quality checks and audits.
  • Follow company data entry procedures and confidentiality guidelines.
  • Communicate with team members or supervisors to clarify incomplete or unclear information.
  • Meet daily, weekly, or monthly productivity and accuracy targets.
  • Assist with basic administrative tasks as needed (e.g., document formatting, file conversion).

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred in some cases).
  • Proven experience in data entry or administrative support roles.
  • Strong typing skills (typically 40–70+ WPM with high accuracy).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and/or data entry software.
  • Reliable internet connection and a quiet remote work environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) or database tools.
  • Familiarity with remote collaboration tools (e.g., Slack, Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
  • Basic knowledge of data privacy and security practices.
  • Prior remote work experience.
