Service Engineer

Since the foundation in 2005 in Germany ASKION has become a reliable and strong partner for the production of medical devices in different fields. Our biggest branch in the company are devices for Biobanking. Those are mainly units for the controlled rate freezing of biological material, like cells or tissue, and the storage of those materials at cryogenic temperatures (below -150 °C equals to - 238 °F). All the handling will be done automatically by robotics at temperatures between -80 °C to -130 °C ( -112°F and -202 °F). ASKION is selling those products worldwide with subsidiaries in different countries. For our USA company ASKION International LLC we are looking for a service engineer.

Together with our sales team he will serve our customers in north America. Those customers are mainly hospitals, medical research centers and pharmaceutical companies. 

In the course of our strategic human resources planning, we are looking for someone (m/f/d) who takes over the service and installation activities of our ASKION C-line® products in Northern America.

 

Your tasks:

  • Installation, maintenance and service at customer sites and/or online in Northern America
  • Preparation and performance of new installations of ASKION C-line® products at customer sites, including: coordination of the scope of delivery, acceptance of the devices according to ordered configuration including support of customer acceptance, delivery and installation, organization of customer training, creation and support of customer’s service documentation
  • Participation in an initial training in Germany and regular training
  • First contact person for customer (phone, mail, online) for devices related questions/requests
  • Organization and performance of service calls
  • Support of customers within ASKION service
  • Implementation of service contracts/packages with the customer
  • Active control of the service status of products
  • Support of the customers in the field of spare parts and consumables
  • Assistance with translations of service documents (operating manual and others)
  • Contact person for customers/distributors for service enquiries
  • Information and close cooperation with the responsible person at ASKION Germany and ASKION US Inc.
  • Independently and creative processing of the delegated tasks

Your profile / Requirements:

  • Technical college or higher education or skilled worker in the technical field (mechanics, electrical engineering, software)
  • Deep practical technical understanding
  • Creativity in solving technical problems
  • Team spirit and flexibility
  • Open mindedness in dealing with customers
  • Willingness to travel, also at short-notice
  • Mother tongue English, knowledge of German language desirable
  • Computers skills and knowledge of Office programs
