Social Media Intern
Social Media Intern — Instagram, TikTok & Creative Content
About us
We’re a small creative agency working across art, design, content, technology, and experimental media. We’re looking for a creative, self-starting social media intern to help us build and grow our presence on Instagram, with the possibility of expanding into TikTok.
This is a hands-on role for someone who understands visual culture, likes making things, and wants to help shape a social presence from the ground up. You’ll help us turn our projects, process, ideas, references, and creative work into engaging social content.
This is a good fit for someone who has a strong visual eye, follows internet and creative culture, and is excited to learn how a small creative agency builds its voice, audience, and content systems.
What you’ll do
You’ll help bootstrap and manage our social media presence, especially Instagram, with possible support for TikTok. Responsibilities may include:
Helping develop our Instagram content strategy, visual direction, and posting rhythm
Creating, organizing, and scheduling posts, Reels, Stories, carousels, and short-form video concepts
Turning agency work, behind-the-scenes process, references, experiments, and ideas into social content
Researching trends, formats, artists, brands, creators, sounds, visual styles, and cultural references
Assisting with captions, hooks, light copywriting, and content concepts
Helping maintain a content calendar and organize social assets
Editing simple short-form videos, image posts, graphics, and visual layouts
Supporting photo, video, and digital asset workflows
Helping identify what types of content are working and suggesting improvements
Experimenting with AI-assisted creative workflows for content development, image editing, research, and production
Helping us design, test, and improve internal creative tools for social content and production
Assisting with general agency projects as needed
Who you are
You do not need to know everything already. The most important thing is that you are curious, reliable, visually thoughtful, and excited to help build something.
Ideally, you have:
Some experience making content for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, or other social platforms
A good eye for composition, typography, color, style, and visual storytelling
Interest in art, design, fashion, music, film, technology, internet culture, or creative communities
An understanding of what makes social content feel native, interesting, and shareable
Basic writing or captioning ability
Strong communication skills and attention to detail
A self-starting attitude and willingness to figure things out
Interest in creative technology, AI, digital media, and new workflows
A portfolio, social account, website, moodboard, video reel, or examples of creative work
What you’ll learn
This internship is designed to be educational and practical. You’ll get experience helping build a real creative agency’s social presence while also learning how content systems, creative tools, and production workflows work behind the scenes.
You’ll gain experience with:
Instagram content strategy and account development
Short-form video concepts and social storytelling
Creative direction and visual research
Design, branding, and visual identity fundamentals
AI-assisted content creation and production workflows
Digital asset organization and production pipelines
Designing and testing custom creative tools
Understanding the strengths, limits, and use cases of existing creative tools
Turning creative process problems into useful tools and workflows
By the end of the internship, you should have a stronger understanding of how to build a social media presence for a creative company, how to turn creative work into compelling content, and how modern creative tools can support content production. You’ll also have portfolio examples of content, systems, workflows, and tools you helped shape.
Nice to have
Not required, but helpful:
Experience running or helping grow an Instagram, TikTok, or creative social account

Familiarity with tools like Canva, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, Premiere, Photoshop, Lightroom, Notion, or Later
Any previous experimentation with creative tools, automation, AI, coding, no-code systems, or digital workflows
Comfort being scrappy, resourceful, and experimental
