Junior Engineer

Position Summary:

The Junior Engineer supports the Engineering Department in developing technical drawings, coordinating with internal teams, and assisting in the preparation of shop drawings and fabrication details. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals with 0–2 years of experience who are eager to learn window systems, construction processes, and Skyline standards. The role involves hands-on training, close mentorship, and exposure to engineering workflows.

Essential Functions:

  • Interpretation of architectural details and drawings
  • Assist in preparation and revision of AutoCAD drawings
  • Support senior engineers in shop drawing development
  • Perform basic field measurements and documentation
  • Create hand sketches and markups under supervision
  • Maintain accurate project data and documentation
  • Communicate effectively with Engineering, PM, and Sales teams
  • Participate in training and apply learned standards 

Knowledge, Skill & Ability:

  • Strong AutoCAD fundamentals
  • Basic understanding of architectural drawings and shop drawings
  • Good Excel skills (basic formulas, organization)
  • Basic construction and hand tool knowledge
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and follow direction 

Experience & Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
  • 0-2 Years of Experience
  • Window industry experience a plus
  • Metal Panel /Slab Cover experience a plus
  • Curtain Wall experience a plus
  • 3D Drawing ability a plus
  • Architectural façade experience a plus
  • AutoCAD experience required (Intermediate Level)
