Pay: Starting $18.00 per hour - hybrid position ideally for pre-medical students who want to learn, assist with surgery and get exposure to medicine. The physician would be happy to write a letter of recommendation to any medical institutions for those candidates who excel and show potential and dedication.

We are looking for a Part Administrative / Office Assistant and Medical Assistant (to be cross trained) - starting at $18.00/hour with the opportunity for an increase depending on performance after training period. We are looking for a dedicated employee.
Office Days/Hours: Monday, Thursday from 8:00-5:00pm and occasional Tuesdays or Fridays depending on practice needs, and candidates schedule.
Part-time person would initially start with Mondays and Thursdays, but hours could increase to Tuesday as required.

Job Description: This position includes administrative functions such as answering phones, data entry, filing, checking patients in and out and collecting copays and outstanding balances, making appointments and handling referrals.
Medical assisting duties include working up patients, assisting with surgeries, performing all medical assisting duties. And essentially helping out the office as needs arise.
Education and Experience: High School Diploma or technical school is required. Must have some experience in medical front/billing/medical assisting.
Bilingual - Spanish is preferred but not necessary
Skills, Abilities and Duties:
- Knowledge of general medical practices and procedures
- Some knowledge of ICD-10 coding and billing is preferred
- Knowledge of HIPPA and ensures patient confidentiality
- Must show attention to detail
- Ability to follow directives as set forth by supervisor and management
- Ability to work with others
- Ability to read and write legibly with good documentation skills
- Ability to solve practical problems and multi-task
- Ability to exercise good judgment in hectic situations and making decisions
- Ability to hear and speak in order to converse with patients over the telephone
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds when needed without difficulty
- Must have a valid, active Drivers License in order to perform courier duties if needed
- Ability to manage multiple assignments/projects; meet appropriate time-frames
- Needs to be outgoing, reliable, punctual and willing to help everyone in the office
- Must maintain a professional appearance and personable, professional attitude
- Must treat patients with respect, courtesy and understand and respond appropriately, effectively and sensitively to special population groups as defined by race, ethnicity, language, age, sex, etc.
- Must be able to type 40+ words per minute, utilizing word processing, spreadsheets and electronic health records
- Must be able to sit, type and work at a desk up to 8 hours at a time without difficulty
- Must be able to move efficiently on your feet for 8 hours at a time in order to room patients when needed
- Determine insurance eligibility, limitations and payment estimates necessary to facilitate financial arrangements
