Graphic Design Intern
Position Summary
The Graphic Design Intern will support the Marketing Department by assisting with the creation and execution of visual marketing materials that promote the Credit Union's brand, products, services, and community presence. This position offers hands-on experience in graphic design, social media content creation, digital marketing, video production, and brand management while working alongside marketing professionals. The intern will gain practical experience developing creative assets for both print and digital platforms. Adapted from the Marketing Specialist position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with the design and creation of marketing materials, including flyers, brochures, advertisements, posters, digital graphics, and promotional items.
- Create engaging content for social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and other channels.
- Support the development and maintenance of the Credit Union's visual brand standards.
- Assist with website content updates, graphics, and digital marketing campaigns.
- Help create and edit video content for social media, website, and marketing campaigns.
- Assist with photography and photo editing for marketing initiatives and community events.
- Design graphics for internal communications, employee initiatives, and member communications.
- Support the creation of email marketing campaigns and digital advertisements.
- Assist with organizing and maintaining marketing assets, templates, and design files.
- Attend community events and assist with event setup, promotion, and photography as needed.
- Collaborate with the marketing team on special projects and campaigns.
- Research design trends, marketing best practices, and competitor marketing efforts.
- Assist with maintaining inventory of marketing materials and promotional items.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- Currently pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Advertising, or a related field.
- Junior or Senior standing preferred but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Basic knowledge of graphic design principles, typography, color theory, and layout design.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) preferred.
- Familiarity with Canva and other design platforms.
- Basic photography, video editing, or content creation experience is a plus.
- Understanding of social media platforms and current trends.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Creative mindset with a willingness to learn and accept feedback.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
