Programs Internship

Position Overview

Eradicate Hate seeks a highly motivated Programs Intern to support national and international initiatives focused on preventing hate-fueled violence. 

This internship provides hands-on experience in research, communications, partnership development, program support, and strategic outreach across initiatives including the Prevention Practitioners Network, Reach Out Resource Hub, UP End Hate, SCREEN Hate, and various Eradicate Hate working groups. 

Interns will gain experience in nonprofit strategy, prevention education, national partnership development, digital engagement, research translation, and event coordination while supporting initiatives with national and international impact. 

Responsibilities

Intern responsibilities may vary based on organizational priorities and individual strengths, with opportunities to contribute across communications, research, design, outreach, and program operations. Responsibilities may include:  

A) Research, Writing, and Content Development 

  • Conduct research and synthesize findings related to hate prevention, digital literacy, violence prevention, and community resilience 
  • Draft written materials, summaries, outreach content, toolkits, and communications 
  • Translate research into accessible language and formats for educators, parents, practitioners, students, and broader public audiences 
  • Support development and revision of SCREEN Hate educational materials and website content 

 B) Communications and Graphic Design 

  • Create graphics, social media content, and digital communications for UP End Hate and SCREEN Hate initiatives 
  • Assist with visual storytelling, data displays, and infographics for reports and outreach materials 

C) Outreach and Partnership Development 

  • Support outreach efforts to recruit organizations and individuals to participate in the Reach Out Resource Hub 
  • Assist in building partnerships with colleges and universities for national-level UP End Hate engagement 
  • Help recruit organizations for the global ARCHER directory at House 88 at Auschwitz 
  • Support stakeholder engagement and relationship-building across partner organizations 

D) Program and Events Support 

  • Assist with planning and coordination of virtual events and trainings for the Prevention Practitioners Network 
  • Support program logistics, scheduling, communications, and participant engagement 
  • Assist with research, speaker recommendations, and event agenda development 

Qualifications 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Ability to synthesize information for different audiences 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a collaborative environment 
  • Interest in hate prevention, violence prevention, education, communications, public health, public policy, social impact, or related fields 
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communications 
  • Comfort in working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or other graphic design tools 
  • Experience creating social media content 
  • Experience conducting research or literature reviews 
  • Experience with website editing or content management systems 
  • Experience with data visualization or report design 
  • Experience supporting virtual events or trainings 
  • Familiarity with youth engagement, digital literacy, prevention education, or nonprofit work 
  • Ability to communicate research and prevention strategies in accessible, engaging language for parents, educators, and community audiences
