Overview

Provide front line customer support for the Nordstrom Tennis Center. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Provide comprehensive front desk support at the Nordstrom Tennis Center by welcoming guests, answering inquiries, and managing lessons and court reservations through the online system. Handle credit card transactions accurately, reconcile daily payments, and maintain detailed records of all customers, guests, and financial activity while verifying affiliations through proper identification. (40%)

 

Support daily operations by assisting the Director of Operations with event preparation and coordination, responding to customer questions and concerns, and promoting programs, services, and pricing to complete transactions. Uphold all facility policies and procedures, maintain a clean and organized front desk and lobby, answer phones according to service standards, and ensure consistently professional, positive experience for all visitors from arrival to departure. (35%)

 

Demonstrate reliability and professionalism by arriving prepared for scheduled shifts, following emergency and operational protocols, and completing additional duties or special projects as assigned. (25%)

 

Minimum Qualifications

High school graduation or equivalent AND six months of fiscally related experience such as bank teller or retail salesclerk OR equivalent education/experience. 

 

Additional Qualifications

Demonstrate strong punctuality, reliability, and schedule flexibility. Maintain a friendly, professional, and positive attitude while working both independently and collaboratively, showing initiative and sound judgment.

 

Possess solid computer proficiency (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook) along with strong attention to detail, basic math skills, and the ability to quickly learn new systems and follow instructions. Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and accuracy.

 

Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, while providing excellent customer service. Exhibit strong problem-solving skills, the ability to multitask, work under pressure, and build positive relationships with customers, including remembering names and personal interactions. 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous customer service or retail sales experience preferred; tennis knowledge and familiarity with the local area are a plus, and general knowledge of the sport is helpful but not required.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain upon hire.

 

Typical Schedule

Availability to work opening shifts (7:30 AM start), closing shifts (ending at 10:00 PM), and weekends are required.

 

Working Conditions

  • Position involves frequent standing for extended periods, with regular walking between the front desk and court areas. Occasional sitting may occur during slower periods.
  • Requires the ability to move quickly in response to customer needs, including bending, reaching, and light lifting (such as equipment or supplies).
  • Must be comfortable working in a dynamic environment that involves both stationary desk work and active movement throughout the facility.
