Annual Salary: $52,936.00- $68,827.20

Position Information:
The Maintenance Worker – Parks – 1.0 FTE performs a variety of semiskilled and skilled maintenance in County parks, including landscaped areas, sports facilities and open space; and performs related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
One year of full-time experience performing basic maintenance work in a park, landscaping, or related environment including irrigation, plant care, chemical application, and/or grounds maintenance equipment use; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
License Or Certificate:
A valid driver’s license is required at the time of appointment and must be maintained for continued employment in this classification.
Certification as a pesticide applicator must be obtained from the Department of Agriculture within six months of appointment and must be maintained for continued employment in this classification.
Ideal Candidate Will:
- Will demonstrate enthusiasm with performing grounds, parks, and/or landscape maintenance and will have previous full-time professional experience.
- Will demonstrate knowledge of applicable grounds, parks or landscape maintenance processes and procedures.
- Will have basic knowledge of appropriate pesticide application according to federal and state laws and protocols.
- Will have strong experience in the safe operation of grounds maintenance equipment, such as string trimmers, edgers, tractors, and riding mowers.
- Will have the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently.
- Will be self-motivated, responsive, and have effective communication skills.
