JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title Machine Vision Engineer
Location St. Peters, Missouri
Summary
Job requires experience in software development with communications to industrial equipment and automation.
Strong preference for experience in the field of specialized and custom vision acquisition, analysis, interrogation, and data collection for the purposes of real-time machine control and equipment automation.
Essential Job Functions
Creating software solutions to vision and image acquisition problems.
Support of process development goals for semiconductor single crystal growth.
Coordinate with equipment controls development engineers and mechanical design engineers for design and improvement of vision systems.
Maintain material estimates and cost estimates for vision related projects.
Development, communication, and execution of structured testing plan with measurement of quality metrics.
Ancillary Job Functions
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Fluent in reading, understanding, and speaking English.
Fluent in software development using C++.
Familiar with the use of additional development API from open source and vendor libraries.
Understanding of equipment communications using USB, serial (RS232), and Profibus.
BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with MATLAB is beneficial but not required. Training will be provided if not familiar.
Knowledge or experience with linear algebra concepts and practice with MATLAB or similar preferred but not required.
Knowledge or experience with 3D stereo reconstruction vision system is preferred but not required.
Work Environment
Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of the job.
General office environment.
Based at St. Peter’s, Mo. Factory.
Travel (less than 25%) for support and training.
Physical Abilities
Mild lifting and working with hand tools as required to assemble and test vision equipment.
