Respite Provider- Wausau, WI- OB

 

We are seeking a compassionate and dependable individual to support a teenage girl with special needs in the Wausau area. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys mentoring youth and is passionate about making a meaningful, positive impact.

 

Support may take place either in your home or within the community. Responsibilities include creating a safe, nurturing, and encouraging environment while helping the individual build confidence, independence, and essential life skills.

 

 

Location: Wausau, WI

 

Wage: 

  • $17.66 per hour (shift less than 8 hours)
  • $256.00 per day (shifts more than 8 hours)

Hours: 

  • 20 hours per week – after school
  • 4 days per month - every other weekend 

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide companionship and supervision - always ensuring her safety. 
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with the teen and her family. 
  • Create firm boundaries but still be kind and empathetic. 
  • Be present and engaging.  Participate in activities that are meaningful to her.   

Skills: 

  • Be consistent and confident in your abilities
  • Have experience working with youths with behavioral/mental health issues
  • Able to use redirection/de-escalation techniques if needed for aggressive or violent behaviors. 

Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver’s License, Reliable Vehicle and auto insurance
  • Willing to work with her in the community and your own home. 
  • Previous respite experience preferred with children with behavioral/mental health issues. 
  • Willing to undergo a background check prior to hire. 
  • Family prefers FEMALE providers.
