                                            Teaching Assistant

Assists professional staff in all areas of instructional and non-instructional education program. 

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1.       Assist all professional staff in daily duties and instructional support in areas including, but not limited to, lesson plan development and implementation; development and implementation of behavioral modification techniques; management of outside classroom areas (i.e. locker rooms, swimming program, cafeteria, gym); hygiene instruction and possible one on one intervention with a student.

2.       Assists students, whenever necessary, with daily physical needs (i.e. diaper changing, toilet training, lifting to and from wheelchair).

3.       Escorts students throughout building to a variety of areas both within and outside school building.

4.       Supports any substitute teacher(s) regarding specific needs of students.

5.       Assists in preparation for and may participate in staffing conferences.
