Responsibilities:

Position Overview

We are seeking a Payment & POS Technical Support Specialist to assist merchants with payment terminal installation, POS system support, technical troubleshooting, and merchant statement analysis.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with payment technology, POS systems, and customer support while helping merchants understand their payment processing accounts and monthly statements.

Key Responsibilities

Payment Terminal & POS Installation

  • Install and configure credit card terminals and POS systems
  • Set up payment devices, printers, cash drawers, scanners, and networking equipment
  • Configure merchant payment processing systems
  • Test credit card, debit card, contactless, and mobile payment functionality
  • Assist merchants with hardware upgrades and replacements
  • Configure restaurant and retail POS environments

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide phone, remote, and on-site technical support
  • Troubleshoot payment terminal issues
  • Resolve network connectivity problems
  • Diagnose printer and peripheral device issues
  • Assist merchants with transaction processing errors
  • Support POS software configuration and maintenance
  • Escalate complex technical issues when necessary

Merchant Statement Analysis

A key responsibility of this role is understanding and reviewing merchant processing statements.

You will help merchants analyze:

  • Processing fees and rates
  • Monthly service fees
  • PCI compliance fees
  • Batch settlement reports
  • Deposit reports
  • Chargebacks and retrieval requests
  • Monthly transaction volume
  • Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover processing activity
  • Cost-saving opportunities and fee optimization

Merchant Account Support

  • Assist with merchant account applications
  • Collect and verify onboarding documents
  • Support underwriting and approval processes
  • Maintain merchant account records
  • Coordinate with payment processors and banking partners
  • Assist merchants with account maintenance and updates

Customer Training

  • Train merchants on POS system operations
  • Educate staff on payment processing procedures
  • Demonstrate reporting and settlement functions
  • Assist with refund and void transaction procedures
  • Ensure merchants understand best practices for payment acceptance
