Are you passionate about interior design, home furnishings, retail presentation, or visual storytelling? Talsma Furniture is looking for a motivated and creative Visual Merchandising Intern to help bring our showrooms to life.

This hands-on internship offers real-world experience in retail merchandising, showroom design, furniture placement, and customer-focused visual presentation. You'll work directly with our Visual Merchandising Team, Floor Managers, and Transfer Crew to create inspiring spaces that help customers imagine furniture in their homes.

Internship Schedule

We are flexible and can accommodate either:

• 2 days per week at one Talsma Furniture location, or
• 4 days per week working between two Talsma Furniture locations

What You'll Do

• Assist with the planning and execution of furniture floor moves
• Work alongside the transfer crew to relocate and stage furniture throughout the showroom
• Create and refresh room vignettes that showcase furniture, rugs, lighting, artwork, and accessories
• Style displays to improve visual appeal and customer engagement
• Help maintain showroom standards and presentation quality
• Identify opportunities to improve traffic flow and merchandising layouts
• Assist with accessory placement, wall décor, and finishing details that complete a space
• Support seasonal resets, special promotions, and new product introductions
• Learn how visual merchandising impacts customer experience and sales performance
• Collaborate with store leadership on weekly merchandising priorities

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Interior Design, Visual Merchandising, Marketing, Retail Management, Fashion Merchandising, Business, or a related field
• Creative eye for design and attention to detail
• Ability to lift and move décor items and assist with showroom changes
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn
• Interest in furniture, home furnishings, interior design, or retail
