Description:
The Educational Leadership & Cultural Foundations (ELC) Department in the School of Education (SOE) (https://soe.uncg.edu/elc/) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Federal Work-Study (FWS) Student Office Assistant to join our team commencing this August 2026. In this role, you will assist with daily administrative tasks, customer service, event planning and marketing, and special projects. This position provides valuable professional experience and flexible hours designed to accommodate your academic schedule.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage, organize, and file office documents (both physical and digital).
- Assist with data entry, office inventory & mail.
- Help facilitate campus events or department outreach activities.
- Complete other duties and administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must have a current Federal Work-Study (FWS) award for the current academic year.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, including electronic correspondence etiquette.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and able to multitask and accomplish various tasks with strict time constraints (sometimes, not always).
- Proficiency in basic computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook Calendar), Google Workspace, Canva).
- Reliable, punctual, willing to learn/adapt, and detail oriented.
Additional Information:
- Hours: Up to 8-10 hours per week and may include one Saturday each semester for the ELC annual Fall and Spring conferences (FWS students cannot work more than 20 hours per week during the academic year and only work during the Fall and Spring semesters)
- Hourly Pay Rate: Commensurate with experience
- Location: 3rd floor, UNCG School of Education Building (SOEB)
