Property Management Intern

Uniwest Commercial Realty is a commercial property management company and developer based in Merrifield Virginia serving retail, mixed-use, and commercial properties throughout the Washington, DC metro region.

We work closely with property owners, tenants, vendors, and leasing teams to operate high-quality properties and create long-term value for our clients.

We are seeking a Summer Property Management Intern for students graduating this spring or recent graduates who are interested in building a long-term career in commercial real estate and property management.

This is a paid internship with a clear pathway to full-time employment after the summer for strong performers.

Position Summary: 

The Summer Property Management Intern will work directly with our property management team and senior leadership to support day-to-day operations across a portfolio of commercial properties.

The ideal candidates are rising seniors or recent graduates who focused on business or real estate. We are looking for candidates who are highly organized, detail-oriented, hands-on, comfortable communicating professionally, interested in building a career in commercial real estate in the DMV region, have a can-do attitude, and comfortable using Excel and Microsoft Office.

Duties:

Property Operations 

  • Assist with day-to-day property operations across the portfolio 
  • Participate in on-site property inspections and document observations 
  • Track maintenance items and follow up on outstanding issues 
  • Help coordinate vendors and service providers 
  • Manage on-site engineering staff 

Tenant Relations 

  • Communicate with tenants regarding routine property matters 
  • Assist with service requests and follow-up 
  • Support tenant move-ins / operational requests 

Financial and Administrative

  • Assist with invoice tracking and vendor documentation 
  • Help prepare budget and expense reporting materials 
  • Organize lease files and property records 
  • Maintain internal trackers and reporting spreadsheets 

Project Support 

  • Assist with capital improvement and repair projects 
  • Coordinate scheduling with vendors and contractors 
  • Track timelines and deliverables
