Summary:
Piggush Engineering is a full-service Civil Engineering firm that provides a wide range of civil infrastructure projects, construction management, and land surveying services to its clients. This includes, but not limited to, municipal engineering projects, roadway & transportation projects, site engineering & detention design, water & wastewater systems design, and land surveying record documents.
Under the leadership of the Principal Engineer, the Project Engineer I will assist with basic site and drainage designs while implementing sustainable site design principles. Related projects may include site grading and drainage plans, stormwater detention design and modeling, subdivision design, water and sewer system utility design, generation of flood study models and reports, assisting with roadway improvements. Assist with the preparation of local, state and federal permit applications. Provide the necessary project coordination and construction administration support on engineering projects that include construction inspection.
This is a full-time in person position. Work will be performed at our office located in Kankakee, IL and at various project sites throughout the surrounding area.
Essential Skills & Abilities
The functions performed by the Project Engineer I will vary by knowledge, but may include the following:
- Assist with project tasks, including research, production of design plans and construction specifications
- Assist in the preparation or modification of reports, cost estimates, plans and permits
- Assist in reviewing and editing engineering plans, construction documents and specification mark-ups
- Perform any necessary additional field work to verify and complete the design process
- Perform necessary job site visits throughout design and construction process
- Adaptive and ambitious personality which will work well in team situations as well as have the ability to work and adapt to situations as an individual with a varying degree of people and personalities.
- Good interpersonal skills to ensure good communication with designers, engineers, and other colleagues.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- Excellent written and verbal skills and strong interpersonal skills to interact with Team Members and Clients.
- Independent problem-solver and decision maker.
- Flexibility to collaborate with others to solve problems.

Salary Range
$30.00 per hour - $38.00 per hour
