Assistant Superintendent

The Assistant Superintendent oversees day-to-day construction activities on residential job sites, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with plans, specifications, and applicable codes. This role serves as the primary on-site point of contact for subcontractors, trade partners, and homeowners, and is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and craftsmanship throughout every phase of construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily field operations and ensure compliance with project plans and specifications.
  • Coordinate and oversee subcontractors, trades, and site workers.
  • Monitor job site safety, enforce safety protocols, and conduct regular inspections.
  • Communicate project status, issues, and progress to Project Manager and stakeholders.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project documents.
  • Maintain and submit daily logs, timecards, and site reports.
  • Ensure materials and equipment are delivered and used efficiently.
  • Identify potential issues early and propose practical solutions.
  • Uphold site cleanliness, order, and professionalism at all times.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or trade certification preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in construction.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, OSHA standards, and construction methods.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical documents.
  • Proficiency with construction management software is a plus (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in outdoor environments in varying weather conditions.
  • Capable of lifting 50+ pounds, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods.
