Position Overview

DeepBrain Academy is seeking a STEM Education Learning Design Manager to support curriculum development, instructional material design, and STEM education initiatives. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about education and enjoy transforming academic content into engaging, student-centered learning experiences.

The Learning Design Manager will collaborate with instructors and academic leaders to develop, organize, review, and improve educational materials for K–12 STEM programs.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Development & Instructional Design

  • Adapt mathematics and physics content into clear, student-friendly instructional materials.
  • Organize textbook chapters, lesson sequences, examples, exercises, and assessments into structured learning modules.
  • Create and revise worksheets, homework assignments, review packets, lesson notes, and practice materials.
  • Develop step-by-step solutions, answer keys, instructional explanations, and teacher support materials.
  • Improve clarity, pacing, formatting, examples, and problem progression within curriculum resources.
  • Support curriculum development across topics including arithmetic, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, logic, problem solving, introductory physics, mechanics, electricity, and waves.
  • Assist in developing enrichment and advanced STEM learning materials for academically motivated students.

Content Review & Quality Assurance

  • Review instructional materials for mathematical accuracy, consistency, readability, formatting quality, and appropriate difficulty level.
  • Verify calculations, diagrams, formulas, solution methods, and answer keys.
  • Maintain organized curriculum files, problem banks, solution repositories, and educational resources.
  • Ensure instructional materials align with academy learning objectives and educational standards.

Academic Collaboration

  • Work closely with instructors, curriculum developers, and academic leadership to improve educational content.
  • Participate in curriculum planning discussions and material review meetings.
  • Contribute ideas for improving student engagement, learning outcomes, and instructional effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Background in learning design, instructional design, curriculum design, educational content design, or a closely related field.
  • Experience designing structured learning materials for K–12, enrichment, tutoring, test preparation, or STEM education programs.
  • Strong understanding of instructional sequencing, learning objectives, scaffolding, assessment design, and student-centered content development.
  • Ability to adapt complex academic content into clear, age-appropriate, and engaging learning materials.
  • Experience creating or revising lesson plans, worksheets, practice sets, review packets, teacher guides, student guides, or digital learning resources.
  • Strong written communication skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working with educational documents, slides, spreadsheets, shared folders, and curriculum planning tools.
  • Availability of approximately 15–20 hours per week.
  • Ability to work in person at the Tenafly, NJ location as needed.
  • Mandarin proficiency is a plus but not required.
