CalRecycle is looking for an Analyst II who is self-motivated, creative, and customer focused to conduct data research and analysis in support of the Beverage Container Recycling Program (Program). The Analyst II provides administrative support for the implementation of Chapter 115, Statutes of 2020 (AB 793) and Statutes of 2024 (SB 551), which require beverage manufacturers to include a minimum amount of postconsumer recycled plastic in all plastic beverage containers subject to the California Refund Value (CRV). The Analyst II will provide contract management support by initiating, coordinating, preparing, scheduling, and monitoring contract work related to the annual review of the plastic minimum content standard as defined under AB 793 and the Cost Survey contract. The Analyst II will also review annual reports from beverage manufacturers, plastic reclaimers and product manufacturers to ensure compliance with the plastic minimum content standards.

Some travel is required within and/or outside the State of California and may include overnight stays. Working irregular hours may be required, including nights, holidays, and weekends. It may also include weekend and unplanned assignments that will require an adjustment to the employee’s work schedule, including extended periods, requiring overnight accommodations. Travel to include, but not limited to, driving a motor vehicle and travel via public transportation, including commercial airplane, train, rideshare and in the same vehicle as other staff. Fieldwork will be required in various regions of the state and out-of-state, where weather conditions and temperatures can vary. This position may require up to 15% travel per year.

Incumbent must have and maintain a current valid California driver's license and participate in the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Employer Pull Notice Program.
