Job Description and Duties
The incumbent must possess strong organizational and good interpersonal skills. Must possess a valid California Class C Driver’s License.
Under close supervision of the Hydroelectric Plant (HEP) Mechanical Supervisor and the guidance of a HEP Mechanic I, the HEP Mechanic Apprentice learns to disassemble, repair, and reassemble motors, generators, piping systems, gear boxes, drive mechanisms, hydraulic power and pressure units, valves, gates, trash racks and impellers. Learns mechanical troubleshooting and to diagnose trouble under emergency conditions.
