Role Summary

Under general supervision and in alignment with organizational policies, unit standards, and the Michigan Public Health Code, the Registered Nurse provides and coordinates high‑quality care throughout the patient’s stay. This includes using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care; collaborating with interdisciplinary team members; delegating tasks appropriately; and documenting patient responses and needs. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.

What You’ll Do

• Perform comprehensive assessments and identify patient needs.
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care, incorporating patient and family input.
• Administer medications and treatments according to approved nursing practices.
• Provide patient education and ensure comfort and safety throughout care delivery.
• Coordinate care with physicians, advanced practice providers, and support staff.
• Delegate tasks based on patient needs and staff competencies.
• Evaluate patient responses and adjust care plans accordingly.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred; must obtain within 8 years of hire.
• Current RN license in good standing in the State of Michigan.
• BLS required by completion of core orientation.
• Additional ED‑specific certifications required at Bronson South Haven:
• SALT Triage, ESI Triage, and NIH Stroke Scale within 90 days of hire.
• ACLS, PALS, and TNCC (for full‑time and part‑time nurses) within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with patient handling.

Work Environment

• Fast‑paced Emergency Department setting requiring sustained alertness and rapid decision‑making.
• Regular standing, walking, and patient interaction.
• Exposure to infectious diseases and high‑stress clinical situations.

Shift Details

• Part‑time
• 48 hours per pay period
• 12‑hour Night Shift (7 p.m. – 7 a.m.)
