Social Studies Teacher - Middle School (26/27)
At Brooklyn Lab, we believe young people who understand the world are better equipped to change it. We're a small, mission-driven school community where every scholar is known by name — and our educators drive two to three years of academic growth on average.
We're looking for a passionate Middle School Social Studies teacher who brings history, civics, and geography to life for young learners. You'll deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction, use data to sharpen your craft, and guide scholars through advisory — supporting them academically, socially, and emotionally as they grow into engaged, informed citizens.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in history, geography, economics, civics, social studies education or a related field required; Master's degree preferred
- NYS teaching certification
- 2+ years teaching, ideally in urban or low-income school settings
- A growth mindset and genuine comfort with feedback and accountability
- Deep commitment to equity and college access for historically underserved students
If you're an educator who wants students to leave your classroom not just knowing history — but feeling empowered to make it — we'd love to hear from you. Apply directly through Brooklyn Lab's careers page by clicking here.
