Social Media Intern

About HarborBlue

HarborBlue Vacation Rentals is a boutique vacation rental management company serving Cape Cod. We're currently a small, fast-growing, high-touch operation that takes pride in delivering a seamless, stress-free experience for both our homeowners and guests.

We're looking to promote our brand to homeowners (whose properties we would manage) and guests (who we are looking to attract to our homeowners' properties). To achieve this, we want to build out our social media presence (Instagram, Facebook) from ground zero.

About the Social Media & Marketing Intern Role

We're looking for a creative, self-directed Social Media & Marketing Intern to own HarborBlue's social presence for the summer season. You'll produce roughly 30 posts per month across Instagram and Facebook. These posts will be a mix of photos, carousels, and Reels.

You'll have a voice in ideating and selecting content: anything from beautiful Cape Cod properties, interviews of local businesses, and / or behind-the-scenes clips of a growing hospitality company. You'll work directly with the founder, shoot on-location content at properties across the Cape, and see your work drive real business results.

What You'll Do

  • Plan, create, and schedule ~30 posts per month across Instagram and Facebook (photos, carousels, and short-form video/Reels)
  • Shoot on-property photo and video content at vacation homes around the Cape
  • Write engaging captions in HarborBlue's brand voice and maintain a monthly content calendar
  • Edit short-form video using CapCut, Instagram tools, or similar
  • Create branded graphics in Canva consistent with our visual identity
  • Engage with our community
  • Research hashtags, trends, and local events to keep content timely and discoverable
  • Track performance metrics (reach, engagement, follower growth) and report monthly on what's working
  • Support broader marketing projects as needed — email content, blog posts, listing photography

Who You Are

  • Currently enrolled in (or recently graduated from) a college program, ideally in marketing, communications, hospitality, or a related field
  • Active and fluent on Instagram - you understand Reels, trends, and what makes content perform
  • Comfortable shooting and editing photo/video on a smartphone; an eye for composition and light
  • Strong writer with attention to detail and the ability to match a brand voice
  • Self-starter who can manage a content calendar with minimal supervision
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license (you'll travel to properties across the Cape; mileage reimbursed)
  • Based on or near Cape Cod for the summer

Bonus Points

  • Experience managing a brand, business, or club social account
  • Photography or videography portfolio
  • Familiarity with scheduling tools (Later, Buffer, Meta Business Suite)
  • Interest in real estate, hospitality, or entrepreneurship

Compensation & Details

  • Pay: $18–$22/hour, depending on experience (W-2 seasonal employee)
  • Hours: 12–15 hours per week, flexible scheduling
  • Duration: June through August/September, with potential to extend into the school year part-time
  • Location: Hybrid — remote content planning plus on-location shoots across the Upper and Mid-Cape
  • Perks: Mileage reimbursement for property visits; direct mentorship from the founder; a portfolio of real published work and measurable results
