React Native Software Engineer — Entry-Level / Junior

We are a small, fast-moving startup in Irvine looking for a trainable, high-energy React Native Software Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for a current student, recent graduate, or junior developer who wants real startup experience, direct ownership, and exposure to production software.

You will work closely with a small engineering team and contribute to mobile app and web development, bug fixes, testing,  product improvements, and related engineering tasks. We are especially interested in candidates who are comfortable using AI tools to improve development speed, solve problems, and learn quickly.

Responsibilities:

- Build and improve mobile app features using React Native
- Help debug issues, test releases, and improve product quality
- Work on real production systems used by customers
- Use AI-assisted development tools effectively and responsibly to support implementation, research, and debugging
- Collaborate with engineers, product, and leadership in a small-team environment
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and communicate progress clearly
- Learn quickly and contribute wherever needed across the product

What we’re looking for:

- Current student, recent graduate, or junior developer with strong interest in software engineering
- Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and mobile development
- Experience or strong interest in React Native
- Understanding of Git and general software development practices
- Comfortable using development tools such as VS Code and Cursor, and AI tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar tools as part of the development workflow
- Strong problem-solving ability and willingness to learn
- Reliable, proactive, and comfortable working in a startup environment

Nice to have:

- Previous internship, project, startup, or freelance software experience
- Experience building mobile apps from scratch
- Experience shipping React Native apps or working with Expo
- Interest in AI-assisted development, product, user experience, and fast  
   iteration
- Ability to work independently while still asking good questions

Location:

This role is based in Irvine, CA, near Michelson Drive. The position is primarily in-office, with the possibility of hybrid flexibility on some days depending on team needs and after discussion.

Compensation:

Base salary range: $70,000–$85,000 per year, depending on experience and fit. For current students or very early candidates, internship-to-hire or part-time options may also be considered.
