Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Virtual Middle School Tutor to provide one-on-one academic support for students in grades 6–8.

The ideal candidate combines strong academic knowledge with patience, warmth, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with students. We are looking for someone who can make learning engaging while helping students strengthen both academic skills and confidence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide virtual one-on-one tutoring sessions for middle school students
  • Support students across core subjects, including math, English, science, and social studies
  • Identify academic strengths and areas for growth
  • Create individualized learning strategies based on student needs
  • Build positive relationships with students and families
  • Track student progress and communicate updates when appropriate
  • Foster confidence, independence, and strong study habits

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • Previous tutoring or teaching experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable internet connection and professional virtual workspace

Preferred

  • Teaching credential
  • Master's degree in Education or related field
  • Current or former classroom teacher
  • Experience working with middle school students
  • Experience supporting advanced, gifted, or struggling learners

Compensation

Competitive hourly compensation based on experience, qualifications, and teaching background. $30 per hour.
