Marketing - Social Media
Under Student Recreation & Wellness Services, The Marketing Assistant for Social Media serves as a brand ambassador to promote programs, events, and services to the campus community via content creation and promotional opportunities. This role is ideal for outgoing, creative students who are passionate about wellness, recreation, and connecting with others. This position is great for someone seeking hands-on experience in marketing or brand promotion in addition to building communication and public speaking skills. Must be comfortable on camera and creating fun and engaging content!
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Capture high-quality photo and video content at Student Recreation and Wellness Services (SRWS) programs, events, and activities for marketing and promotional use.
- Create engaging multimedia content for websites, social media platforms, digital displays, print materials, and other marketing channels.
- Appear on camera in short-form video content to promote SRWS programs, services, and events.
- Develop, manage, and maintain content calendars to ensure consistent and timely communication across marketing platforms.
- Assist with the development, implementation, and evaluation of marketing plans and promotional campaigns.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Programs & Marketing, professional staff, and student employees to support departmental marketing initiatives.
- Represent SRWS and the Recreation Center at campus events, outreach activities, and tabling sessions.
- Engage students and campus community members in a friendly, professional, and informative manner.
- Communicate program offerings, services, events, and facility information to individuals and small groups.
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing promotional and engagement campaigns.
- Contribute creative ideas and feedback to support marketing strategies and increase student participation and awareness.
- Attend events and activities to capture photography and videography content for future marketing and promotional materials.
- Ensure all content and materials align with campus/departmental branding and communication standards.
- Support departmental projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Strong Knowledge of major social media platforms inlcuding Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and Youtube.
- Experience creating content for social media, including photography, videography, and short form video production
- Current student in good standing
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfortable speaking in front of small groups and engaging with diverse audiences
- Must be willing to be on camera and participate in video content creation
- Strong Organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Ability to work primarily nights and weekend with unique event coverage
