Position Description
The Mail Room Operations Assistant EDGE Intern supports the daily operations of the Converse mailroom by helping ensure the timely and accurate distribution of mail and packages to students, faculty, and staff. This position provides hands-on experience in customer service, communication, logistics, organization, and workplace operations while contributing to an essential campus service.
In addition to supporting daily mailroom functions, interns participate in projects designed to improve communication, organization, and operational efficiency within the mailroom. Through these experiences, students develop transferable skills applicable to a variety of professional environments.

Key Responsibilities
Mailroom Operations
- Sort, organize, and distribute incoming mail and packages accurately and efficiently.
- Support the daily operation of the mailroom by maintaining organized workspaces, materials, and storage areas.
- Contribute to timely mail and package processing that supports campus operations and services.
Customer Service & Communication
- Assist students, faculty, and staff with mailroom inquiries and package retrieval.
- Provide professional customer service and communicate information clearly and effectively.
- Support communication efforts that promote awareness of mailroom services and procedures.
Projects & Operational Improvement
- Participate in projects designed to improve mailroom organization, efficiency, and communication.
- Create and maintain social media content that enhances communication with students.
- Contribute to updates and improvements to the mailroom website and related communication resources.
- Support mailroom organization and workspace improvement initiatives that enhance operational effectiveness.
Experiential Learning Opportunities
EDGE Interns gain practical experience in customer service, logistics, communication, workplace operations, and process improvement. Project opportunities may include developing a mailroom social media presence, updating website content, improving organizational systems, and identifying ways to enhance communication and service delivery.

Supervision, Mentorship & Evaluation
EDGE Interns receive ongoing coaching, mentorship, and feedback throughout the academic year. Supervisors provide guidance on workplace expectations, professional development, and operational responsibilities.
As part of the Converse EDGE Internship Program, interns participate in a structured assessment process designed to measure growth in career readiness competencies and professional development.
