Volunteer Writer – Art & Culture

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate Volunteer Writer who is enthusiastic about art and knowledgeable about the art industry. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys researching, writing, and communicating ideas about art, artists, exhibitions, creative trends, and cultural topics. The writer will help create engaging content that supports our mission and connects with our audience.

Responsibilities

Research and write articles, blog posts, interviews, and other content related to art and culture.

Stay informed about developments, trends, and news within the art industry.

Create engaging and accurate content for websites, newsletters, social media, and marketing materials.

Assist in highlighting artists, exhibitions, events, and creative projects.

Collaborate with team members to develop content ideas and editorial plans.

Ensure content aligns with the organization's voice, goals, and values.

Edit and proofread content for clarity, accuracy, and consistency.

Requirements

Strong interest in art, culture, and the creative industries.

Knowledge of the art industry, including contemporary and/or traditional art practices.

Excellent written communication and storytelling skills.

Ability to conduct research and present information clearly and engagingly.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality content.

Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.

Previous writing experience (professional, academic, personal blog, or volunteer work) is preferred but not required.

Preferred Qualifications

Background in Art History, Fine Arts, Journalism, Communications, Creative Writing, or a related field.

Familiarity with galleries, museums, exhibitions, artist communities, or the broader creative sector.

Experience creating content for digital platforms and social media.
