Homeschool Program Teacher
Teaching: Meets and instructs classes in the time designated; Plans, provides and maintains Individual Learning Plans of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students; Creates an environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students; Maintains online platforms for the NWABSD. Guides the learning process toward the achievement of district/site goals and established clear objectives and communicates these objectives to students; Employs a variety of instructional techniques including providing and maintaining coursework outside of the traditional school day, including but not limited to Independent Study, Service Learning, and Duel Credit opportunities. The teacher selects, develops, and employs appropriate evaluative techniques regarding impartiality, consistency, and objectivity; Diagnoses the learning abilities of students on a regular basis, seeking the assistance of district specialists as required; Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities; Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation; Evaluates students a number of times to make an accurate appraisal at the end of the grading period; Strives to maintain and improve professional competence; Maintains a positive working relationship with the students, staff, families, and community;
Establishes and maintains an effective learning climate for the school; Supervises the maintenance of all required records and reports; Prepares reports, records, lists, and all other paperwork required or appropriate to the school's administration; Updates and maintains the Homeschool Handbook. Works with various members of the central administrative staff on school problems of more than in school import, such as special services; Keeps Supervisor informed of events and activities of an unusual nature as well as routine matters related to the supervisor's accountability; Assumes responsibility for the implementation and observance of all board policies and regulations; Budgets school time to provide for the efficient conduct of school instruction and business;
Responds to written and oral requests for information; Maintains high standards of students, according to due process to the rights of students; Assumes responsibility for the attendance and conduct; Assumes responsibility for all official school correspondence and news releases; Organizes and administers the public relations program for the school; Makes arrangements for special conferences with parents; Provides for adequate inventories of property under his/her jurisdiction and for the security and accountability of that property; Perform other duties as assigned.
