The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) Division of Construction (DoC) is seeking a Student Assistant to work under the direction of the Performance and Innovation Office Chief, primarily based at the Chico Maintenance Yard. In a learning capacity, the Student Assistant will support the development and implementation of innovative, technology-driven solutions, including the use of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) for construction monitoring and the creation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) models to enhance digital construction workflows. The incumbent will assist in researching, testing, and deploying emerging technologies to improve the quality, accuracy, and efficiency of DoC operations.
