Process Engineer

Job Title: Process Engineer

Job Summary:
 We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our Medium Voltage production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing the production process of MV Products. The role requires a hands-on approach to problem-solving, improving efficiency, and ensuring the highest quality standards are met. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Capacity Planning & Costing: Conduct detailed time studies for core production. Update Standard Costs and manage Bills of Materials (BOM) to ensure accurate material requirement planning (MRP) and capacity forecasting.
  • Functional Testing: Oversee or develop procedures for dielectric, insulation, and performance testing. Ensure all units meet industry standards (IEEE/ANSI/IEC) before shipping to customers.
  • CAPEX & Strategic Growth: Identify needs for new technology or increased capacity. Prepare Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) justifications, including ROI analysis and technical specifications for executive approval.
  • Performance Reporting: Track and report key manufacturing metrics, including On-Time Delivery (OTD), First Pass Yield (FPY), and total Scrap Costs to senior management.
  • Optimize transformer assembly processes to improve efficiency and reduce manufacturing costs.
  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Risk Mitigation (PFMEA): Develop and maintain Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Quality Control Plans to proactively identify risks in manufacturing and preventing expensive material scrap and labor waste.
  • Support the introduction of new products (NPI) to the production line.
  • Train operators on new processes, equipment, and all applicable procedures.
  • Collaborate with QA to ensure compliance with industry standards. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, or Industrial Engineering – required
  • Minimum 0-2 years of experience in heavy manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge in CAD software (AutoCAD) and 3D modeling -preferred
  • Experience with lean manufacturing tools (5S,..etc.) – required
  • Knowledge of industry standards like IEEE, IEC, or ANSI -preferred
  • Software: familiar with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and CAD software -preferred
  • Testing: Familiarity with electrical testing protocols (e.g., Ratio test, Hi pot test).
