Backend Developer Intern (Java / Spring Boot / Kotlin)

Role Overview We're looking for an early collaborator to help build the backend of HealthPOD™. You'll work on authentication, data management, matching algorithms, and compliance workflows real architecture for a real-world healthcare SaaS platform.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and Kotlin
- Build APIs and microservices to support web and mobile applications
- Implement integrations with third-party services such as background checks, license verification, and healthcare APIs
- Optimize system performance, security, and reliability
- Work closely with frontend, product, and AI/ML teams to deliver scalable features
- Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical decisions
What We're Looking For
- Academic, project, or professional experience in Java, Spring Boot, and Kotlin
- Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB
- Familiarity with Docker and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Experience with Git, GitHub, or GitLab
- Self-driven and collaborative, comfortable navigating ambiguity in a startup environment
