Assistant Project Manager

The Wm. Blanchard Co. is currently seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager with a Construction background to join our Construction Team on projects in the New Jersey area.

Assistant Project Managers coordinate with multiple project team members to resolve construction-related issues. You will work closely with the Project Manager, MEP Project Manager, and the Field Superintendent on a daily basis, assisting in all aspects of construction projects. You will collaborate with team members to adhere to the project schedule to ensure and provide excellent client/owner customer service. 

 Day-to-day work will include:

Attending weekly meetings, taking and managing meeting minutes, writing project reports, reviewing and tracking delivery of materials, composing and managing Requests for Information (RFI's), preparing bid packages, and scope preparations. Candidate will maintain and prepare budgets, distribute construction schedule updates, and review contractor quotes for negotiations. 

 Responsibilities will also include but are not limited to:

  • Submit award or follow-up correspondence to proposed bidders.
  • Prepare drawing and specification lists for submission to sub-contractors.
  • Draft and submit purchase orders, collect change orders, and items from subcontractors.
  • Attend frequent Project Management team scheduling meetings.
  • Assist with permit processing.
  • Perform project scheduling
  • Manage subcontractor project close-outs.
  • Conduct project status reports.
  • Have Owner/client interface.
  • Review and or update Change Management tracking.
  • Assist with project reporting.
  • Manage/process submittals.

 Requirements:

  • Demonstrate proficiency in the review and analysis of design drawings.
  • Must be willing to adapt to new technologies as required to fulfill responsibilities of this position. This will presently include knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 products, Sales Logix, Procore, and other Project Management software, Building Connected, MS Project, BLUEBEAM REVU, Google Sketch, Auto CAD, Navisworks, AUTODESK REVIT, or equivalent.
  • The candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and multiple computer software programs. 
  • Must have Strong communication skills both written and oral.
  • Must be willing and able to develop relationships with owners and subcontractors.
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Engineering, Mechanical Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or related field. 
  • 2-3 years' experience preferred with in field of Commercial Construction preferred. 
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record. 
  • Travel to multiple jobsites throughout Northern New Jersey; may be required.
