Position Overview

Mystic Valley Regional Charter School seeks dedicated and collaborative K–6 Classroom Teachers to assist in the implementation of the school's academic program. This position provides classroom coverage, instructional support, and administrative assistance while helping to maintain a structured, positive, and productive learning environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with school leadership to support student achievement and uphold the school's educational philosophy and expectations.

Responsibilities

Maintain classroom routines, organization, and daily schedules.

Support classroom management through the consistent implementation of the school's behavior expectations, including the 4:1 ratio of positive reinforcement.

Assist in delivering instruction aligned with the Direct Instruction and Core Knowledge curricula.

Document lesson implementation and student progress and submit reports to the Professional Development Coordinator as required.

Monitor and report on curriculum effectiveness and student outcomes.

Participate in all required professional development activities.

Attend and actively participate in grade-level meetings, Teacher Assistance Team (TAT) meetings, and staff meetings.

Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) and Section 504 meetings as needed.

Implement classroom accommodations and modifications in accordance with student IEPs and 504 Plans.

Assist with progress reports, report cards, and student records as assigned.

Participate in parent-teacher conferences, Back-to-School Night, open houses, and other school events.

Attend school-wide functions, including the Holiday Performance and Senior Luncheon.

Perform assigned morning, lunch, recess, and dismissal duties.

Support, enforce, and adhere to all school policies and procedures.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Lead Teacher, Professional Development Coordinator, or school administration.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to analyze information, solve problems, and exercise sound judgment.

Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with students, families, faculty, and staff.

Strong organizational, collaboration, and classroom support skills.

Commitment to maintaining high expectations for student achievement and behavior.

Ability to perform duties in compliance with school policies and all applicable state and federal regulations.

Successful completion of applicable MTEL examinations within one year of employment.

Employment Information

This position is an annual appointment and is evaluated on a yearly basis.
