Role Description
This is a part-time, virtual role for a SAT English Tutor. The role involves working with small groups of high school students to build reading comprehension, grammar, and writing skills in preparation for the SAT. Responsibilities include leading virtual tutoring sessions, tracking student progress, and developing targeted lesson plans aligned with the current SAT format.
Qualifications
- Strong command of SAT English content, including Reading & Writing section structure, grammar rules, and evidence-based reasoning
- Experience tutoring or teaching in a virtual environment, individually or in small group settings
- Clear communicator with a student-first mindset and ability to adapt to different learning styles
- Organized and proactive in managing session schedules, student progress, and materials
Nice to Haves
- Familiarity with the current digital SAT format (College Board's Bluebook platform)
- Background in English, Education, or a related field
- Experience working with high school students in an academic prep context
- Strong personal SAT/ACT score or standardized test performance
Hours and Compensation
- Employment is part-time and virtual, contract signed on a semester or seasonal basis
- Workload approximately 3 hours per week, split between live tutoring sessions and session prep/materials
- Compensation is $50 per hour
