Sales & Marketing Associate
Middle Market Information is a leading media, events, and data company serving professionals in the middle-market M&A and private capital ecosystem. Through our flagship brand Mergers & Acquisitions, TheMiddleMarket.com, newsletters, webinars, and live events, we connect investment banks, private equity firms, lenders, advisors, and service providers with timely intelligence and targeted audiences.
We are growing our digital marketing and sales efforts and are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Sales & Marketing Associate to support marketing, database management, and sales coordination.
Role Overview
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone looking to build experience in B2B media, marketing automation, and consultative sales support after 1-2 years of working experience in a similar or related position. You will work closely with the sales and marketing teams to execute campaigns, manage our CRM, and help convert interest into scheduled sales conversations.
Key Responsibilities

Marketing & Campaign Support
- Assist in executing email and social media marketing campaigns (paid subscriptions, webinar promotions, sponsored content)
- Help manage and segment contact lists to support targeted outreach and campaign performance
- Support social media posting and scheduling (primarily LinkedIn), including promotional campaigns for events, content, and sponsors
- Track performance metrics and assist with campaign follow-ups

CRM & Database Management
- Maintain and update the contact database in ActiveCampaign (titles, companies, engagement history, segmentation)
- Assist with list hygiene, tagging, and automation workflows
- Ensure accurate tracking of leads, campaign responses, and sales touchpoints

Sales Support & Coordination
- Help schedule sales appointments and demos with prospective sponsors, advertisers, and members
- Conduct follow-up outreach to warm leads after campaigns, webinars, or events
- Support sales initiatives by preparing lists, sending follow-up emails, and tracking responses
- Earn commissions on sales you assist with or help move through the pipeline
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience in marketing, sales support, operations, or a related role (B2B preferred)
- Experience with email marketing platforms; ActiveCampaign experience is a strong plus
- Comfortable working with CRM systems and contact databases
- Strong written communication skills and professional email etiquette
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks
- Interest in media, marketing, sales, or the finance / business ecosystem (M&A, private equity, etc.)
