As a Environmental Resource Specialist, the incumbent will work under closer supervision performing assignments and completing training. At the full-performance level, you will be expected to.
In this role you will:
- Apply concepts and techniques in biological, physical, and ecological sciences to support a variety of projects.
- Assist with determining the potential impacts of proposed activities on wetlands and wildlife resources.
- Devises both short and long-term migration plans to minimize adverse effects on the environment and assists with preparing the reports.

Who May Apply: To be eligible for consideration you must meet the definition of as defined below:
Basic Requirements for Environmental Resource Specialist:
Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. Degree must be completed by June 2026.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting in applying concepts and techniques in biological, physical, and ecological sciences to support projects; or, determining impacts of activities on wetlands and wildlife resources; or, developing short and long-term migration plans to minimize adverse effects on environment and assist with preparing reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
OR
Education: One full year of graduate level education (or will have completed one full year by June 2026) in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management or chemistry.
