Camp RN Counselor
Oakland University's School of Nursing is looking for highly organized, driven, cheerful, and detail-oriented individuals to fill the position of Camp RN Summer Camp Counselor. Camp counselors are expected to serve as positive role models, demonstrating patience and empathy. This position reports directly to the Camp RN Leader and Director of Nursing Laboratories.
Assist the Camp Leaders and Skills Instructors with facilitating and overseeing summer campers. Work with fellow Camp RN staff to plan and implement fun and engaging Summer Camp RN activities Responsible for ensuring the safety of all campers. Other duties as assigned.
This is a two-week position (20-40 hrs). Camp prep and camp runs 7/20-7/31.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be 17 years or older and have completed a high school degree
- Comfortable with working with children and youth
- Ability to organize time, material, and groups
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Desired Qualifications
- Interest in Nursing, Health Sciences, Medicine, or other related health professions preferred
- Previous experience working with children
- Ability to carry up to 30 lbs
- BLS or CPR certification preferred
- Strong leadership skills
